Queensland community funding is spread across state agencies, councils, foundations and Commonwealth programs. A single search result rarely provides a complete or current picture.

Start with Queensland's official funding resources

The Queensland Government maintains a funding and grants resource for community organisations. It is a discovery point for government and non-government opportunities, but each linked program has its own rules and dates.

Community organisations should also monitor their local council, relevant Queensland department and GrantConnect for Commonwealth opportunities.

Strong community applications

Assessors generally need to understand the demonstrated need, who benefits, how many people are affected, why the proposed solution is appropriate and whether the organisation can deliver it.

Replace broad claims such as “the whole community needs this” with available participation figures, waiting lists, service data, consultation results or partner evidence.

Keep the final decision human

The organisation's authorised officers should approve all claims, budgets and declarations before submission. Funding criteria can change between rounds, so always return to the current administering-body page.

Official sources

Program rules and dates can change. Use these administering-body sources as the final authority.
