Grant & Tender Co is based on the Sunshine Coast, so the question we hear most is not "what grants exist" but "what is open for us, here, now". This is that answer for the Sunshine Coast and Noosa as at 29 October 2026, in three layers: council, state and federal.
The short version: most council rounds are closed until 2027, but five things are open now, and clubs have until 30 November to get their federal MP's nomination for a Stronger Communities grant.
Open now
- Sunshine Coast Mayoral and Councillor Discretionary Funding. Open all year from 1 July, apart from a few weeks at the end of each financial year. Not-for-profits apply to the councillor for the area that benefits most, or to the Mayor for Coast-wide projects. The 2026-27 pool is $276,540, or $25,140 per councillor. Talk to your councillor's liaison officer first; they send you the application link. Apply before the project starts.[5]
- Sunshine Coast Anzac Day 2027 event grants. Up to $15,000 for regional events and $3,000 for local ones. Council's page lists two closing dates, 1 February and 15 February 2027, so work to 1 February.[4]
- Noosa Community Quick Response Grants. $500 to $2,500, open until this year's budget runs out, with decisions within 30 days. Funding covers 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. The grants officer is on (07) 5329 6433.[8]
- Noosa Economic Development Grant. $1,000 to $5,000 for projects that build local business skills, connect businesses or lift activity in business precincts. It runs on a rolling basis until 30 June or until the money is spent, with results within 30 days. Council asks you to check eligibility with its Economic Development Project Officer first.[9]
- Queensland security grants. Round 3 of the Secure Communities Partnership Program opened on 23 October. Individual small businesses can get $1,500 to $20,000 for security, now including tradie vehicles and trailers, closing 23 April 2027.[11] Groups of businesses in a shopping strip or industrial estate can apply together for $20,000 to $200,000, closing 29 January 2027.[12] Both need a 50% contribution.
The federal one with a November deadline
Round 10 of the Stronger Communities Programme gives every federal electorate $150,000 for community projects of $2,500 to $20,000, with no co-contribution for not-for-profits. Clubs can only apply if their federal MP invites them, and MP nominations close at 5pm on 30 November 2026. Invited applications then close on 19 January 2027.[13] Contact your MP's electorate office now.
Closed, and when they come back
- Sunshine Coast Major Grants are closed. Council says 2027 dates "will be finalised soon". They pay up to $15,000, or $30,000 for community facility infrastructure. Requests up to $7,500 need no co-funding; $7,501 to $15,000 needs 50% from other sources and $15,001 to $30,000 needs 75%, part of which can be volunteer hours at up to $47 an hour. Results take 10 to 12 weeks. The grants team is on (07) 5420 8616.[2]
- Sunshine Coast Minor Grants, up to $3,000, run one round a year. The last closed on 13 July 2026, and the next round's dates aren't published yet.[3]
- Environment Levy Grants, up to $5,000 for not-for-profits, closed on 13 July 2026.[6]
- Christmas and New Year 2026 and Australia Day 2027 event grants closed on 14 September. There are no multi-year event applications in 2026; the next chance is the June 2027 round.[4]
- Noosa Community Project Grants Round 25 opens on Monday 8 February 2027 and closes on Monday 22 March 2027, with results in June 2027.[8]
- Noosa Signature Community Event Grants and Community Alliance Agreements next open for expressions of interest in February 2028.[8]
- The Gambling Community Benefit Fund closed Round 127 on 28 September. Outcomes can take four to five months, and the next round hasn't been announced.[10]
For businesses rather than clubs
Sunshine Coast Council's support for business is mostly non-cash. Its Level Up grants page links the state and federal grant finders and a funding finder in one place.[7] Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast keeps a similar list of portals and current programs.[14] The business.gov.au finder, filtered to Queensland, is the fastest check on federal programs.[15]

- 30 November 2026: Stronger Communities MP nominations close
- 19 January 2027: invited Stronger Communities applications close
- 29 January 2027: shared security grants close
- 1 February 2027: Anzac Day 2027 event grants (Sunshine Coast)
- 8 February to 22 March 2027: Noosa Community Project Grants
- 23 April 2027: small business security grants close, or earlier if funds run out
Sunshine Coast Major and Minor Grants for 2027 are still to be scheduled. A club that wants money from them should have quotes, financial statements and insurance certificates ready now, because every program above asks for some mix of the three.
